Children need to possess the ability to defend themselves and tackle the evil people and creatures who try to harm them. Evil beings often find it extremely easy to take over the world when no one understands the happenings around them and no one knows how to prevent it. Also, if no Defense teacher occurs Hogwarts, misbehavior with children increases. In an immense place such as Hogwarts, a large number of teachers benefits the goal of good behavior.
