The ”N” word should be kept in the book because its not like it has died with time. our generation and i'm sure many more to come will be using this word in every way. its just apart of who we are.the word was used in everyday situations in the past and it is still used today in everyday situations such as younger kids thinking that it is cool but now people find it to be immoral and disrespectful. when really they shouldn't because Mark Twain isn't trying to offend anyone because he knows that was apart of …show more content…
he was just trying to capture the essence of the word and put a strong word like that in his book to make it a much better book. people wanna replace the word with an alternative such as “slave”.A quote that i found and picked out of an article basically says that taking the word out of the book would be a disgrace to america , “Sanitizing the Language which aided and abetted white America’s denial of humanity of black Americans from the nation’s founding doesn’t change the history. It papers it over and allows us to dodge its rawness”. als saying that people shouldn't feel offended because it is a big part of americas history.
