Pica is an eating disorder developed from the person’s brain waves. The person’s brain does not fully comprehend the meanings of the word “food” nor “full.” To a person with Pica everything may seem like food and cravings happen constantly. The cravings never allow the person to receive that “full” feeling. Pica is found in all walks of life surrounding the globe, malnourished persons, pregnant women and underdeveloped teens. It is most commonly found in the teens who already have a mental disorders. This is because the brain is already wired differently and does not allow the person to always have full control of themselves. The solution to pica has to come from within the person. Pica is hard to drop right away and the lucky few are able to stop the craving after a couple months. The unlucky people spend many years battling with the disorder. Pica tends to become a danger when you are least expecting it. One wrong item shoved down a person’s throat can cost them their life. This is why a support system is strongly advise on the road to recovery for a person with pica. If no one is around to stop nor save someone after shoving poison or even a sharp object down their throats, then the person with pica is doomed a painful death.
