Addressing institutional racism, bettering community relations with police and tackling other injustices have become major issues in this year’s presidential campaign, thanks to the Black Lives Matter movement. As a young black man this affects my life and people around me and the presidential debate showed where the presidential candidates are in that position. Throughout world history, governments have violated and ignored the human and civil rights of their citizens. In some instances, they demonstrated this disregard through customs, etiquette, and racial caste systems that denied human dignity and respect. In most cases, in addition to these customs, segregation rules and laws were established.

It will be adding up to what Hillary said “Too many young African-Americans and Latino men ended up in jail for nonviolent offenses, and it’s just a fact that if you’re a young African-American man ― and you do the same thing as a young white man ― you are more likely to be arrested, charged, convicted and incarcerated,” Clinton said during the debate. The other thing that was discussed and that I think can affect me personally is the topic of minimum wage. Clinton has made a call for an increase in the minimum wage part of her campaign to make the economy do more to support working Americans. She has called for an increase of the national wage to $12 an hour. Trump generally has said he’s aiming to boost the entire economy rather than individual wages. He has said he prefers states to have the flexibility to set their own minimum wage. He also argues that since his economic policies would boost employment, we would not need an increase in the minimum wage. I support that idea of Hilary Clinton because I know how hard it is to maintain life by only getting paid minimum wage. Also having a single working mother has thought me a lot as we’ve struggled to take care of bills and basic needs because my mom was getting paid minimum wage and had no other source of income to support her two sons and herself; so I personally support for the increase of
