Argumentative Essay On School Uniforms
The idea of school uniforms seems like an outworn notion for many North Americans. Unless a child attends private school, you never see many children running around in school uniforms, as it is not normally practiced by families. Yet, for children all over the world, wearing school uniforms is the norm. Students that learn in schools requiring school uniforms generally perform admirably academically and seem content with wearing the same variety of outfit every day. There are many benefits to wearing school uniforms that schools in the United States should incorporate into their schools.

Parents may worry about the cost of uniforms, saying it is a huge downside but it’s really not. Kids do not need many out-of-school clothing options because they wear their uniforms most of the day and on most days of the week. Additionally, uniforms are becoming more fashionable so kids won’t cringe at the thought of wearing plain, dull outfits. Some schools even offer events in which parents can swap clothing and exchange gently used uniforms with other parents for different sizes. Not to mention that uniforms can easily be passed down from child to child as they grow older, which is what my mother chose to do putting four kids through catholic school. This can save parents hundreds of dollars each year. Even without the option of an event swap, or hand me downs, the cost difference of uniforms to a regular closet of a growing youngster can be several hundred dollars or more.

There are even more advantages to wearing school uniforms in schools in addition to the ones previously mentioned. It means lower costs for parents during back-to-school shopping, it cuts down on bullying, and it can make a student feel more connected to their institute by encouraging school pride. Students will not surrender their personality, but will merely learn new, fun ways to express
