Homework! The one thing a kid hates to have after a long tiring day of school. Why waste all the time on homework when we are eventually going to go over it the next day? Teachers claim that homework is just another way of review so you won’t forget what we are learning class. We all know we don’t spend one day on a topic and just randomly move on know we spend the max 1 or 2 weeks on a certain topic so homework really does not go to good use. Teachers should not give homework but there reasons as to why not. First homework takes up a lot of paper when teachers could be using that paper for other things to benefit our education. Moreover, homework isn't only wasting the student's time but the teachers time as well. By marking and grading homework, teachers are wasting their time. So teachers, please don't blame us the we wasted your time. Some people assume that homework is useful for teachers to watch student's progress but I firmly believe that homework is sent home to test the parents, not the children. I think that teachers can watch the student's progress in school better because teachers don't know that at home who did the homework, the parent, the student or the internet (Google)??????? People also think that homework helps parents to understand that the school holds high goals for students. But, I consider that school work is harder than homework and that means that parents can understand that the school holds higher goals than they think. Furthermore, homework becomes terrible if no one can help you. If no one can help you then you are doing work that you don’t understand, and if you don’t understand it what’s the point having the work that you can’t even do. I really, strongly believe that more kids would stay in school and have a better learning experience if they did not have the stress of homework.…

The first reason we shouldn’t have homework is it’s too much work. In school we sit in a classroom doing work for almost 7 hours (besides lunch). So why do we have to do homework after working for half our day and go to the place where we can get away from school. Also we have a lot of homework on days we need to study for a quiz, and an exam seems more important than homework. This is the only time we have to hangout with our friends on the weekends but sometimes can’t because we have homework. Lastly homework is terrible if no one can help you. If no one can help you then you’re doing work that you don’t understand, and if you don’t understand it what’s the point having the work you can’t do.…

Does homework really help students improve their learning skills like teachers say it does? Well according to my research 75% of students say homework does nothing but give stress & anxiety. Me personally I agree with the statistics homework does give stress, I just don’t approve homework. It just isn’t fair for us students, because we go to school eight hours a day to get our education and do work, why would we want to do more work after hours when we get home.…

Some teachers see homework as a way of reinforcing learning and honing skills, while others view it as meaningless exercises that don't encourage quantitative thinking and creativity. On one side of the debate is, "Practice makes perfect, and drills make skills." On the other side is, "How can mindless repetition and drudgery improve learning?" (The Homework Debate,…

We get gosh darn homework to do for another at least an hour when we arrive home.Teachers always wonder why kids are missing assignments. Hey teachers wanna know why because we get so burnt out we figure we would rather go out and do something rather than sitting in the house studying and working so we don't fail a class.Think about it should homework really even count as a grade? I think not, maybe extra credit if that! Should homework really determine if we fail or not? I think if a student works hard enough in class and completes his or hers assignment correctly that should be enough. And if that kid doesn't do that assignment then it should be homework any other way to me in…

Homework is an important part of the learning process in middle school. One reason is that homework gives students additional practice of skills covered in class. Middle school classes are too short to teach a new concept and practice it sufficiently for students to master. Students need both guided practice in class and independent practice at home. Another reason for homework is that it provides time to complete longer assignments. For example, the ideal composition process allows time for students to think and to reflect on their ideas, as well as time to revise and to proofread their writing. Also, reports and special projects often require research that can not always be done at school. In addition, since all students do not work at the same speed, giving students time at home to finish work keeps them from falling behind. Finally, the most important reason for homework is that it ensures review. New material and old material are practiced in daily assignments. Students who do their homework daily are prepared for tests and make better grades. In conclusion, not only is homework essential to mastering new skills and maintaining previously learned skills, but it also guarantees constant review and provides time for longer assignments, as well as additional time for students who need it. Students, do your daily homework, make better grades, and learn more!…

Everyone has done homework sometime in their life, but probably many of them never liked doing it, and thought it was a waste of time. When students have to do homework, sometimes teachers think it’s a waste of time to grade them, and to put them in the grade book. Homework isn’t as bad as some people think. Even though sometimes it can be a burden, homework can help students practice their skills, it helps students learn to take responsibility and use their time wisely, and it lets parents see what their child has been learning in class. Students may not like homework all the time, but it is helpful in many ways.…

Also, based on the article, “No More Homework?,” in paragraph 3, the author states that parents have been pushing back against homework.
