Argumentative Essay: Should Women Get Paid?
What if I told you women don't get paid as much as men. In this essay I will be describing why we should have equal women's rights for wages. Here are the reasons why we should. Women do just as much work as men, No matter what education we have we have a lower pay. Women should receive the same wage as men for the same job because women do the same work as men, they work the same amount as men do, and women have historically been paid less.

We would get equal pay in 2058. women breadwinners support 40 percent of homes, so we can do enough work to earn the same amount. Women concentrate in low paying jobs according to Bureau of labor statistics. Finance and technology pay more too women's.

Gender pay are decreasing slowly, but there also is changes on this issue. In 2013 compared to previous year the average women working full-time fell by .9% to 84.3%. Discrimination explains why women earn less than men. Women are paid less than men for doing the same job. Women's skills are undervalued women earn way less than men, doing the same jobs. For example in 2012 women as cooks, cleaners, catering, and care staff for Birmingham City Council won compensation because they were denied bonuses.

National legislation was passed in 1963, when John F. Kennedy signed the Equal Pay Law. When he signed the bill, Kennedy called it a significant step forward. The next year the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibited discrimination on the basis of race, origin, color, religion, or sex. The Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978 protected pregnant employees, and the Family and Medical Leave act of 1991 allowed parents regardless of genders to take time off.
