Argumentative Essay: The Abortion Debate

Approximately 42 million abortion procedures are performed in a year. Approximately 115,000 procedures are performed in a day. Fifty percent of women under the age of 25 are obtaining abortions. One percent of abortions are caused by rape. Six percent of abortions are caused by medical reasons, either the mother or the child. Ninety three percent of abortion is caused by the child being unwanted or inconvenient. Ever since abortion became legal in 1973 it has been one of the most heavily debated topics. Should this say something? People use debate to discuss topics that are huge issues in our lives, abortion included. Abortion takes away their right to live, as stated on the US. Constitution. Abortion allows humans to act as God. Many religions are against abortion and the Bible states that a fetus is a person from the moment of conception. Abortion also goes against one of the Ten Commandments, Shall Not Kill. Abortion causes medical complications and physiological trauma for women. Abortion increases the risk of the women suffering from depression. She has to cope with the action she has done, taking
Such as the women’s health and their partners. Abortion does no good and should be illegal. There are other options, such as foster care. Even though the child may not have the best experience, they still have a life. A life is better than no life at all. If a child is aborted they will never experience the things we look forward to. They will never experience their first day of school, their first love, their first heartbreak, the person that will repair it, their high school graduation, their college graduation, their first job, and a child of their own. Abortion takes away a life. A life that is rightly deserved. A life that will be taken away because the child is unwanted or has a disability.
