Argumentative Essay: The Gogreen Initiative
The Gogreen initiative proposed is a great idea. There is entirely too much waste on this planet. In order for any change to be made we must initiate the change ourselves. Trash pick up teams on major roads and highways are effective ways of trash clean up, but is it enough?

The waste on planet earth is becoming very overwhelming. With landfills filling up to the brink of an overload, we are running out of places to store our trash. There is legitamately no more room for myself to waste. I recycle all of my plastics and aluminums to do my part.

It takes everybody not just one man can clean the world. If you do something to make a change i gurantee you will inspire more to make the change. This is our world and we must take care of her as she has done for us. As americans we already recycle at a high rate, we should be able to break it down even more. The three bins is as simple and efficient of a way there is.

Their policies are the most important aspect to the proposition. Instead of disposing all in one place you can have different drop zones for certain materials.

I personally stand for the go green proposal because i want to fix mother earth. It is also just as cost efficient as it is contributing to the enviorment. The goal can be reached if you do what is in your control and recycle and protect what you

Recycling and waste prevention are two very important ways to help address the issues of the environment concerning climate change. Recycling is a very beneficial factor that more individuals need to exercise in order to improve the environment’s pollution, reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, and save energy and natural resources that are used to produce products from virgin materials rather than from recycled materials, which uses less energy and produces less harmful pollution. Recycling has many benefits that helps improve the earth’s conditions. Waste prevention and recycling are real ways to address these problems and begin to make a change. Recycling turns materials that would otherwise become waste into valuable resources, reducing the amount of natural resources needed to produce these same products. Collecting your used bottles, cans, and newspapers and taking them to a recycling bin or collection facility is just the first step, in a series of steps that generates a host of financial, environmental, and social returns. These benefits accrue locally as well as globally. Recycling protects and expands United States manufacturing jobs and increases United States competitiveness by creating more recycling jobs and facilities within the United States and producing more of our own products with recycled materials and being less dependent on outside countries and companies for these products. Recycling prevents pollution caused by the manufacturing of products from virgin materials.…

In 2013 we produced 254 million tons of waste. Of this 254 million tons: we recycled 34%, which isn't a bad number. But of the rest of our waste that ends up in landfills: half could be recycled. That’s 84 million tons of waste that could be reused. So why are we just letting it get buried with the rest of our garbage? Recycling may be expensive and inconvenient in the beginning. But research shows the long term benefits of mandatory recycling programs. These benefits outweigh the initial inconvenience and expense.…

According to www.sciencedaily.com, in 2008 there was so much garbage they had 378,000 volunteers help cleanup garbage. Also garbage causes pollution and climate change and habitat destruction. Each year garbage kills over a million animals. From some garbage wrapping around animals flippers and amputating them. Additionally garbage can cut marine life and create infections. Also ocean currents have been carrying debris into all major oceanic gyres (spiral or vortex) for decades. They recorded a tin entered in the ocean In 1986 and will decompose until 2036. In todays world it is common knowledge of the issues with recycling and pollution. However, there is a way to help slow down the process of over-running our earth. A new initiative is being spoken about, three trash cans for each method of recycling:compost, paper and plastic, and landfill. Other ways include recycling centers, projects for turning your no longer useable items into recycled treasures. I firmly believe in adopting and putting these into practice in our United States with only minor changes. We only have one earth so we have to take care of it.…

In my oppinion, this initiative is a good idea to an extent. The city should not make this into a full blown law though. If people want to recycle then they will recycle. If not, well then they wont. I think it would be a good idea to make these separate bins available to citizens who would like to take part in the initiative. However, citizens who do not wish to participate should not not be forced to. They should not be bullied into doing something with the threat of being fined if they make a mistake or forget which bin there trash goes in. Let the people decide. Do not force this initiative upon…

    Is Recycling Effective?

A few months ago, when I was in Montreal, I was surprised to see that in some grocery stores plastics bags were sold. It is something new because two years ago when I lived in this city, they were free. Now, people need to bring their own reusable bags or buy a plastic bag for 20 cents. Banning grocery plastics bags in Montreal is the city plan as well as some cities in the United States already doing. The aim of this new recycling program is to protect the environment. I believe that recycling is not always effective in some aspects, but it is still the first step that people can do to fight earth’s contamination.…

Is recycling really going green with the environment? Or is recycling just a way to go for green material known as dollars? Recycling is a method in which materials that are not used anymore by people are processed in order to transform them in useful products. In the recent years, recycling has caused a lot of controversies whether if it is a good way to go green and help planet’s health or if it is just a big misconception driven by the media and the government. Some experts in the issue affirm that this practice is still running because recycling was transformed into a political issue that helps government and environmentalists to win money and create jobs. Many people, politicians and non-profit organizations support recycling, generally based on misconceptions; while there are other people that do not support it based on facts. Recycling should not be mandatory because it is very expensive, it will not save the planet’s environment and it does not save natural resources.…

While researching and surveying, I learned some ways that we can prevent and manage the amount of trash on campus. Some of the ways to manage trash are: the people on trash or lunch duty should do it a few times a week, a trash race to see who or what group can pick up the most, while students are waiting for teachers, they can pick up trash, and I even got one response saying humans or robots should do it, after all, it is the 21st…

    Poverty Satire

The act of throwing food away is often forgotten, but with this new profound idea other Americans can feel charitable each time they throw away their trash. Their leftover food will go straight to the landfill and become a nice snack or a whole meal for one of the landfill residents. Society will no longer have to worry about starvation because essentially anyone can provide for the poor. People will eventually feel better about the act of throwing away hundreds of thousands of dollars of wasted food knowing that it will go to a family in need. However, people will be questioning why it has to stop with food. Used tissues, old dental floss, and that rusted razor that everyone has lying about will ensure that the landfill residents have acceptable hygiene. The rainwater combined with the last few congealed drops of some liquid soap will keep the landfill inhabitants fresh and clean. There will be competition in the landfills for the best food and supplies or the best cardboard, but that should be promoted because they need to understand that although everything will be essentially thrown out to them, it will still be “survival of the fittest”.…

Obviously, every human being should about recycling. Well did they know that recycling saves our precious resources from being used up? When you recycle aluminum just one can save enough energy to run a TV for three hours! Also for example, twenty-four thousand of waste is dumped daily including a staggering fifteen million plastic bags, enough to fill twenty-five buses. Apparently, if we recycled every plastic bottle we used, we would keep two billion tons of plastic out of landfills, WOW! Robert Alan once said “We can help educate our families and communities about the importance of recycling for our environment, and how each of us can make a difference for better world by recycling.” Let me now direct your attention on how a ton of recycled paper equals or saves seventeen trees in a paper production, now that’s what I'm talking about! Lastly, but evidently if you recycle glass it can generate 20% less air pollution and 50% less water pollution compared to manufacturing new glass. It’s kind of a real shocker how much little you can do can make a big difference and now one of them can be recycling.…
