kill someone in a instant, they are not just toys that you can play around with. “When there is a big crime, I carry my gun.
When there isn’t I don’t.” (Bob Lonsberry. Lonsberry.com) This man takes owning a gun a light matter. He thinks that he should be prepared because “It's also stupid. Because crime is rarely expected -- at least against people like you and me -- it is almost always random. It strikes like lightning, in some unpredictable way in places unexpected and unforeseen.” (Bob Lonsberry. Lonsberry.com.) Bob, is taking away the jobs of the police. The police are there to protect you. That is there job, when they sign the contract saying that “LAPD officers risk their lives every day to give us a sense of security," (council President Eric Garcetti. articles.latimes) Police men are one of the few people who actually need a gun for a job. Some other jobs that require a gun are a hunter, a body guard, and a soldier in the army. A soldier in the army definitely needs a …show more content…
gun more than a regular civilian. Gun control would be a good thing to have because even if someone said that they were a hunter and they got a guns that can shoot more than 3 rounds at a time, that would be peculiar because there aren’t many times that you see a hunter with a big gun. A hunter usually gets a gun that shoots one round to kill the animal, not a gun that shoot 3 rounds or more, that just doesn’t make sense. Practically anyone can own a gun, and they can shoot it at anyone, and kill them or injure them very badly. If the government controlled guns more, then not only will they be less dangerous but number of gun incidents will go down.
The second reason why guns should be better controlled is because the number of gun incidents will go down.
This is just common sense, if the government took away or monitored the use of guns by regular citizens, who don’t need them, they wouldn’t be abel to kill or hurt anyone. It is just truth that in the least a few people will get hurt from a gun but many people will be safer. (If they are controlled.) And it is likely that it will be on accident too. “In the year 2000 3,092 deaths, 4,042 hospitalizations were the result of firearm-related injury. 76% of these nonfatal firearm hospitalizations were assaults, 16% were unintentional, and 3% were self-inflicted (the remainder were either police shootings or of undetermined intent).” ( state of California. apps.cdph.ca.gov/epicdata/firearms/gun2000.) That true statement also shows that guns are dangerous. People use guns for bad notions. People who use guns don’t always use it for good notions. Guns are a killing devise meant to kill in a rapid and successful way. Guns that are controlled from people are like a life saver. People who own guns own them for reasons that are unnecessary to helping fight crime and abolish something. For example if a robber is in someone’s house, it is the police’s job to abolish them out of the house. Every person who owns a gun owns it for their own purposes. Some people own one “because it is cool, a family legacy (because my parents owned a gun), just for hunting, target shooting,
social reasons, self defense, an investment, historical reasons, or interest in mechanics of firearms.” (Russ Chastain. About.com) Most of the reasons that are stated here of owning a gun are not good reasons. For example there was a news story about a navy SEAL accidentally shooting himself in the head by trying prove to a woman that his gun at his house was not loaded. If the government controlled the use of guns by Naval officers after he is out of service this wouldn’t have happened, along with many other stories in the news. But not only will their be less incidents of gun killings but people will feel much safer if we controlled the use of guns.
If we controlled the use of guns not only will people be safer but they will feel safer too. Every day in the news and online someone is killed from a gun. But if the government controlled gun usage people wouldn’t hear about those terrifying stories of how a bunch of kids went into a school and had a shoot out, or how a man was standing on the street shooting at random cars just to get attention. And when serious actions are made, serious effects follow. When you see those stories on the news about a shootout, then see the crying, heart broken faces of the parents, families and friends, you think ‘wow that was just an ordinary person, who just got shot. That could have been anyone. . . that could have been me’. If the government controlled the usage of guns, people would feel safer and protected. People wouldn’t have to go through the pain and suffering sadness of losing a loved one who got shot. When you are worried about someone but they say it ‘is all fine’, you won’t have to worry about that. Because “72% of all homicides and 48% of all suicides were committed with firearms in 2000.” (State of California. apps.cdph.ca.gov/epicdata/firearms/gun2000.) Homicides and suicides are mostly committed by teens and young adults, because of the pressure from, grades, friends or family or fitting in the popular crowd. If we controlled the usage of guns it would be a safer for children to not worry about being stressed. Homosexual teens are a common victim. A lot of people make fun of homosexuals for being different. It gets to a certain point when they just can’t take the ridicule any more, and they have to end their life. It is a very tragic way to die, and if we controlled guns, they wouldn’t have had the access to guns.
People use guns for bad purposes 97% of the time. For example suicides or murders murder The other 3%, like showcase or for a job, are still dangerous because it as a great potential to accidentally shoot you or someone, and that would be the end. Guns are the most lethal and fatal hand held weapon that the human race has created. If the government controlled the usage of guns from people who didn’t need it, that would be a life saving change that would save many innocent people. “About 14,600 people are shot every year all around the world. About 46 people are killed a day in the US according to crime stats” (Answers.com, no author) This number would defiantly go down if the amount of guns that people owned decreased. If we controlled the usage of guns we would be be controlling a very dangerous weapon, decreasing the number of death by gun incidents, and would be making people feel safer.
