As a millennial, the television has always been the very epitome of entertainment that has shaped the type of person i am today. 17 years into the future, almost nobody has cabled television due to various factors, and that everyone is now using Netflix, a streaming/DVD rental service that has asserted its supremacy among tech giants such as Rogers and Bell for its ability to provide an abundance of television shows and movies while offering a price making Netflix, incompetitable. One of the primary factors that separates Netflix from its fellow tech competitors is the threshold of conveniency it possesses, according to Statista, the vast majority of Netflix users are aged between 16 to 34, or in other words, working age. With the ability to watch your television shows, whenever and wherever, this allows viewers to optimize for more important tasks and postpone watching their favourite television show. Netflix has had a massive presence at the Emmy awards for a number of years including best TV show nominations for House of Cards, Orange is the New Black and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and while it hasn’t won tons of awards yet, perhaps this year it might be different.
