Because texting provides an easier and less personal way of communication, people often use it to avoid awkward phone conversations or personal interaction. Significant thoughts and feelings can be much easier to say in a text message because it eliminates the possibility or stumbling over words. Texting also allows them to collect their thoughts before communicating how the feel. It can sometimes be the way they increase intimacy. Despite the many ways that texting could be beneficial, some argue that talking is better because they feel that texting is ruining the way people communicate with one another. They believe that texting is not favorable to face to face communication. When people text as a primary means of communication, verbal contact becomes uncomfortable for some people. They may even text people who are in their presence. They do not intend to be ill-mannered; however, slow paced conversation can become boring. People often use improper grammar while texting to send a message more quickly, but some argue that this affects their writing skills. Employers say that people who grow up texting rarely know how to change their tone to fit who they are texting. They do not know how to communicate with superiors in business.
