Arguments Against Climate Change

Throughout history, humans have degraded the condition of our earth at an ever-growing rate. The condition of our climate has become worse and worse and not much has been done to correct, or lessen, the damage inflicted to it. Through pollution, an incredible reliance and use of fossil fuels, and harmful practices used to harvest resources, humans have taken a huge toll on the earth. Recently many countries are recognizing the damage done, and are actively passing laws and regulations to curb the rate of deterioration. Even more disturbing than the gross negligence of such facts, is the possible motives behind their denial. There is evidence that connects many prominent scientists, who deny the existence of climate change, to corporate handouts and under the table deals. One such scientist is Wei-Hock Soon. Justin Gillis and John Schwartz of the New York Times report that Soon, who has been called by Republican politicians to testify against the harm of global warming and climate change in front of Congress, has received upwards of 1.2 million dollars from the fossil-fuel industry in the last decade. The release of information like this only adds fuel to the fire surrounding climate change. Many, rightfully so, are enraged after reading about the numerous conflicts of interest surrounding politics and climate change. Many people around the world can barely afford enough to eat, and many are left homeless.
