Arizona Budget Proposal
The Arizona budget is currently meeting its objectives and obligations. The needs of residents within the State are meet accordingly. The Congress of the State for the past few years have kept a balanced budget. Moreover, the appropriations are distributed directly to the programs/services provided by Arizona. Legislators and the governor priorities in funding the expenditures of the state seem to be connected to the constituents of its districts.
As an Arizona resident, the proposal for the Arizona budget is to slight raise taxes and created a surplus recovery budget specially to use in state economy crisis. First, state income on individuals and corporations taxes in Arizona should be rising to one percent for across aboard. Second, taxes on luxury should be increase to five percent since those goods are not a basic necessity. Third, property taxes for individuals and corporations should be increase to one percent. With these taxes increase the state will generate more revenue to cover its expenditures.

The idea of creating the surplus recovery economy budget is to prevent the state from relying on borrowing money to fund the state budget in case of on economic depression like in 2007. Consequently, the surplus recovery budget could generate profit just on receiving interest for the amount save. Undoubtedly, the state of Arizona legislature in my point of view does not need to have a 2/3-vote supermajority to raise taxes. The legislators and its constituents understand that operating a spending budget requires raising revenue and balancing to meet its objectives. Conversely, the Arizona budget with the changes briefly discussed will be collecting more revenue to operate its government in a more efficient and effective

A possible revenue source is a provider assessment, a state law that authorizes collecting revenue from specified categories of providers. Provider assessments provide a more stable source of revenue than sales tax, which funds more than half of the General Fund for Arizona, which in turn provides state dollars for AHCCCS. Since assessments are frequently a percentage of profit earned by the identified provider, they are based on the actual cost of care and are more able to keep pace with the rising expenses in health care. This provider assessment would be used to generate new in-state funds and match them with federal money so that the state receives additional federal Medicaid dollars.…

In Arizona, the state legislature is a citizen legislature. What that means is instead of having career politicians running the legislature, Arizona’s legislature is run by the citizens. A legislator in Arizona must be at least 25 years of age, an Arizona resident for three years, a county resident (of the county they wish to represent) for one year, a registered voter, and English proficient. These qualifications are weak when you consider the qualifications for President but, Arizona sought to be-rid career politician for fear that they would become corrupt. Arizona’s citizens also wanted someone they could relate to so most legislators are small business owners or work in real estate, banking, or insurance. The term limits for legislators contradict the want to be-rid career politicians. A legislator only has to sit out of the election for a two year term then they can run for office again. Because of this contradiction I feel they should not have a raise. Not only were the legislators intended to be part-time, they were intended to be regular citizens. A raise would make it easier to have full-time, career politicians. Although $24,000 is a mere amount for a full time job, being an Arizona state legislator is not a full time job. However, one could argue that the time spent in meetings as a legislator when the rules were made is in fact different and more time consuming now. When Arizona first became a state the legislature was only in session for roughly 100 days. In 2010, the legislature was in session for 217 days. That means the legislators only had 148 days for the other job they were committed to. Even though they seem to not have time for the other job, they should have taken into consideration that the governor can call special meetings that the legislator has to be present for. These meetings could last a couple days to a couple months. That hardly seems like a schedule most people would be willing to keep up with. But, I feel that the original…

Let's start with the bad news first. The most important thing on the average citizen's mind is the fact that California's state tax will rise to 7.5% from 7.25%, a 3.45% percentage increase from the current rate(3). That's not too bad considering a couple years back our sales tax was at an even higher premium at 8.25%. It also raises taxes for people in tax brackets of $250,000 and higher. Which is something to consider, but as a student, I feel that the wealthier population needs to help us in order to bring back the economy and make this a prosperous nation again. As logic dictates: the more education an individual receives, the better job they can acquire, the more money they make, which equals the more money that can contribute to our economy. The question is, what is the end result of all these tax rises?…

Every day, our government is spending billions of dollars to support and defend American citizens. Programs in education, social security, welfare, environmental regulation, national defense and many other realms of our society require massive budgets to function and grow. So to fund all the interests of the country, many different types of taxes are imposed on people and businesses. But due to recent economic downturns, some doubt the tax code and want reform. It is potential to balance the budget, which means there is neither budget deficit or budget surplus. In other words, revenue and expenditure should reach parity during a complete business cycle. Additionally, it is also important for The Federal government to concern yearly about budget deficit, when revenues are less than expenditures, because if deficits are not paid off and happen again and again, the government will accumulate debt. There are some arguments around this topic such as the conservative, liberal, and radical argument.…
