For my own opinion, Why is it important economics in my life, it because economics is basically the study of scarcity of resources and their allocation in society. Everyday life is a never ending competition for scarce resources. For example you need to earn money a scarce resource, for which you provide labor another scarce resource so you can afford to purchase all the things you need in order to live vehicle, gas, home, food, clothing, all scarce resources at the lowest price you can find. And also, Economics is about freedom, as well in our economy, you're free to do what you want economically speaking, because the market itself will decide what to produce and how to produce. In order to do what you want let's say, to buy what you want at the quantity you want, you have to have the money. So another factor of economics that affects your everyday life is the distribution of the total income. Let's say, your income. Your income is not unlimited. With that limited income, you want to buy a lot of things. You have to choose what product to buy, at which price and how much quantity. Now, let's say that you have 13 last dollars in your pocket. With that money you can either buy a ticket for a movie or buy beers and pizzas and watch the TV-show. What you do is what gives you more pleasure, or, as we say, what maximize your utility. You make an economic choice. Our resources are limited (scarcity of resources). But our needs and wants are unlimited. So, how we can fullfill as much wants and needs as possible with that limited resources? We have to prioritise the needs and wants, to allocate the recourses and use them the most efficient way. So, it's about efficiency.…

Economics is a dynamic social science, forming part of group 3—individuals and societies. The study of economics is essentially about dealing with scarcity, resource allocation and the methods and processes by which choices are made in the satisfaction of human wants. As a social science, economics uses scientific methodologies that include quantitative and qualitative elements. The IB Diploma Programme economics course emphasizes the economic theories of microeconomics, which deal with economic variables affecting individuals, firms and markets, and the economic theories of macroeconomics, which deal with economic variables affecting countries, governments and societies. These economic theories are not to be studied in a vacuum—rather, they are to be applied to real-world issues. Prominent among these issues are fluctuations in economic activity, international trade, economic development and environmental sustainability. The ethical dimensions involved in the application of economic theories and policies permeate throughout the economics course as students are required to consider and reflect on human end-goals and values. The economics course encourages students to develop international perspectives, fosters a concern for global issues, and raises students’ awareness of their own responsibilities at a local, national and international level. The course also seeks to develop values and attitudes that will enable students to…

Very simply, economics studies the way people deal with a fact of life: resources are limited, but our demand for them certainly is not. Resources may be material things such as food, housing and heating. There are some resources, though, that we cannot touch. Time, space and convenience, for example, are also resources. Think of a day. There are only 24 hours in one, and we have to choose the best way to spend them. Our everyday lives are full of decisions like these. Every decision we make is a trade-off. If you spend more time working, you make more money. However, you will have less time to relax. Economists study the trade-offs people make. They study the reasons for their decisions. They look at the effects those decisions have on our lives and our society.…

Because we live in an economy it is important to study economics, simply because economics affects everyone. We are part of an economics system, where every day we engage in economic activities. Economics helps us to appreciate that the earth’s resources are limited in comparison to human beings want, which are infinite, and constantly changing along with technology and people’s taste and preference. This excess of wants over what can actually be produced with the limited resources, brings about the basic economic problem of scarcity. Scarcity brings about the choice of what to produce, how the commodity is to be produced and who gets to consume the finished good(s) and/service(s). Economics is important to those involved in economics activities which are everyone: individuals/households, firms/businesses and government when it comes to making these choices. It helps us when making such choices, from the businesses trying to make a profit to the consumers seeking to get more for less and the government trying to obtain welfare for its citizens.…

Everyone is a part of economy and everyone uses the rules of economy too. From the time we are born, we become consumers of various products and services (say, medical services, baby foods, and so on). We grow and diversify to attain various different roles as producers, traders, mediators and agents. Today’s world is that of “economic imperialism”, where economical factors, most importantly, money dictates all the elements of the society, not to forget close family relations. With recession wreaking havoc, economics is something which even ignorant households are learning. Economics is a science which deals with production, distribution and consumption of goods and services. Therefore, we can conclude that whatever involves “transfer of money” includes “economics”. There are two schools of economics, namely, microeconomics and macroeconomics. The combined results of these two determine the actual effect of economics on people. To list all the important functions of economics would be literary impossible as newer issues keep creeping up. In the following lines, we have described some broad and basic functions of economics.…
