Art Analysis: The Flagellation By Piero Della Francesca

The artwork is The Flagellation by Piero della FranceSca in the 1460’s. The Flagellation is known to be a work of art because it was one of the first oil canvas that showed so much style and expression in the men. Which at the time was not something that was normal in the Early Renaissance. My initial reaction to the canvas is that it is random with a lot of things going on. There are a few men that are standing around, then in the background a guy is shirtless and looks like he is being tied up. Interesting picture that wanted me to profile because of the imagery that is within the whole scene.
