Vincent Valdez was born & raised in San Antonio, Texas. Valdez began drawing at age three; as early as kindergarten, he realized his artistic skills differed from others.
While participating in a mural project at San Antonio's Esperanza Peace and Justice
Center at age 10, Valdez decided art would be his career. He earned his of Bachelor
Fine Arts, at the Rhode Island School of Design in Illustration. Valdez art works are exhibited at National Museum of Mexican Art, where recently I visited to choose an artwork for my research paper. I observed many greats art works, but one of
Valdez artwork called my attention, I lost her El Diablo, he can have her I don’t want her anymore.
Valdes, for this work used a serigraphy technique, which consists in reproducing the original image by using silk screen above surface involving stencils or block outs that keep the ink from being squeegeed through the silk. In this artwork Valdes only used three ink colors, white,black and brown. In this serigraph the center figure is a man, who is disappointed, sad, defeated and hopeless, because his woman cheated on him with El Diablo. I came to this conclusion, because the title of this artwork. Also, his face looks heart-broken and he is wearing baggy clothes, because he seems very depressed to take care of his appearance. He is sitting on a wood chair, smoking a cigarette and drinking a beer. The smoke of the cigarette is combined with a sign on the wall, which says “puta.” Also there
