During the early developmental years of life children are prone to varies eating habits that have adverse consequences when they are consuming too many of the wrong food groups. These youngsters find themselves eating more, exercising less, constantly tired, bored, and overweight. Many families are frequent fast food diners instead of enjoying a nutritious home cooked meal is a serious concern in our country today. It is convenient for a large amount of parents to make financial provision for their children to buy lunch at school rather than fix a lunch at home. There is a picture placed between both articles and is used to show a similarity between the two articles. A technique used by Jane Brown is sarcasm throughout the article. She talks about how parents are trying to create “perfect” children and “protecting” them and “incidents” occurring at school, by specifically using these words the reader thinks that there really is no such thing as…

The article "Your Brain Lies to You" is about how the brain works in ways to remember information whether it may be true or false. The article has a strong argument due to its use of Toulmin' terms for the shape of an argument. For instance, the article gives a strong claim that the brain is able to store true or false information but not from where it originated, a phenomenon known as amnesia. The grounds of the claim are scenarios where people believe in certain things to be true when in the contrary they are wrong. An example the article gave is when a study showed that some people believed Obama was Muslim when in reality he is a Christian. The article's warrant is the evidence presented with studies showing how students were able to memorize…

After reading Geake and Cooper’s article, I would have to agree with the proposal. I would agree there is a relationship between cognitive science and education. Cognitive Science is the scientific study of the mind and its process. In education, we are teaching the students a process in learning the materials of the curriculum. We are leaving them think of decision and logic in coming up with answers to questions. The best questions are when there are no right or wrong answers and the students have to think for themselves. This is a hard task for some generation because they were never allowed to think for themselves in a classroom. There was always a right or wrong answer.…
