ARTICLE SYNOPSIS
In this article, it discusses first the fact that many companies now are feeling the need to switch over to an e-business. With switching to the e-business, it then goes over the fact that protecting intellectual property is a major key to having a successful business and knowing who will have access to it. The ways discussed to protect the company are patents, trademarks, copyrights, nondisclosure and confidentiality agreements, even non-compete covenants and employment agreements, anything that relates the property back to the company. Following this it mentions how a carefully worded contract between all parties involved in all parts of the company can make all of the difference.
LEGAL ISSUE
The main legal issue brought up in this article is the need to protect intellectual property and some of the various ways things that can be set up to ensure that the property is not stolen and given to another company.
MANAGERIAL PERSPECTIVE
With legal issues playing a part in how the company is ran it is important to know how to try to avoid them. With the legal issue covered in this article being the intellectual property the best way for them to avoid it is having things set up to protect the company.
