I felt senses of despair, desolation, as well as beauty by looking at Edward Hopper’s painting, rooms by the sea. I learned that painting doesn’t have to be colorful or complicate in order to express feelings.

Art plays many roles in local and global societies. At different period of time, art can use to speak about politics, religions and history. Through art gallery, outdoor sculptures, and live performance, for example, these artistic expressions invite communities to think about the significant of the art, and broaden their perspective on social matter.

They inform me that culture can be different in many ways, and each has its own identity.

We often forget the power of art in the discourse of religion and politics. There are many events throughout the history have sought to destroy art to different religious or political agendas. For example, Hitler not only destroyed modern art, but also visual images, such as documentary

Creativity is defined as the tendency to generate or recognize possibilities, ideas or alternative which can be used in solving actual problems, commutation, and entertainment.

Censorship in the United States in general involves the freedom of speech or other public communication.

The standard of beauty differs from country to country, person to person. It is wrong to simply that something is beautiful and something is not. Art is an expression, and I don’t think it should be measured and weight.

I don’t really know about art, to be honest. I think this class will raise my awareness of art and how powerful and important it is in my live.
