As An Aural Learner
On the Learning Style website (www.learning-styles-online.com) I scored Solitary (17), Verbal (17),
Aural (16), Logical (14), Social (12), Visual (6), Physical (6).

1. As a Solitary Learner praying for fellow students and myself for a successful study time is important to prepare my mindset and mood for concentration. I find peace restored during the day when times of doubt and frustration come in when praying. Confidence and joy returns so that I may concentrate on the task at hand.
2. As a Verbal Learner I enjoy learning new words and looking them up in the dictionary. I like the idea of reading text and listening to videos at least three to four times to gain in understanding.
3. As an Aural Learner I find when quietly reading

Reading the article, Thriving at School, was incredibly inspirational as a future teacher. I have heard amazing faith stories of teachers who would stay after school and pray for every student by walking past their locker. There have been teachers who pray for every student on their rosters. What a great way to reflect on the day that you have had or prepare for the day to come. Terri Trepanier states that, “Praying is the only thing I know to do to maintain my sanity and prepare myself to stand firm for this demanding calling.”…

Prayer is being in the presence of God. It is being in the position where the ego is put aside, hope is elevated and requests are made. One admits his needs, accepts humility, and asks God for help. Prayer is having the opportunity to be in touch with God being able to confess sins and touching the heart of God via his son, Jesus Christ our savior (Christian Apologetics & Research Ministry, 2011). When one prays, prayer is love, devotion, and a walk that allows one to participate daily to keep their thoughts positive (McMinn, 1996). Prayer is like a foundation, one need to pray for strength, understanding, help, peace, love, guidance and gratitude. When one prays, he is conversing with God, walking closer to him, talking and listening to him. One who believes can pray from his or her heart on anything that they want to talk to God about. Another reason to pray is because God told us to pray. Being obedient is a result of discipleship. In Luke 18:1 it states “then he spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart” (New King James Version). Ephesians 6:18 states “pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of…

Prayer is a spiritual communion with God or a way of worship. Since prayer has been eliminated from schools for 53 years, we have had a six-folds in violent crimes, the suicide rate tripled has tripled, teen pregnancy has doubled, and SAT and ACT test scores have dropped by more than 10%. Prayer in school may not be the only thing that causes problems, but it is one of the reasons that we result in spiritual decline as well as school and work decline. In simple terms, prayer is talking to God or a god. During that conversation, the person praying may use his or her own words or, “a set order of words,” such as the Lord’s Prayer to speak to God, may “request or wish” something from a God. The conversation may be vocal or silent. Questions involving school prayer are among the most argumentative questions posed to the courts. This has been the case decades ago and still occurring today.…

Prayer is objective as well as subjective. Prayer brings results — not just in the man who prays but in the ones for whom he prays, the things for which he prays. A man prays from his home in America for a missionary friend in Africa. God hears the man in America and responds by supplying the need for the man in Africa.…

Prayer can be thought of as a form of worship. Some people may find a prayer peaceful or sentimental while others feel it's not useful in their spiritual life. These types of people often perceive prayer done in one way with very strict boundaries. Before taking the Prayer and Spirituality class at Mercy, this was me. I often found myself bored during morning prayer and even day dreaming during mass. Through the concepts and topics of this course I have learned that there are many different ways to pray. This class has broadened my horizons and open doors to a whole new prayerful experience.…
