As I Was Sitting With My Friends In Lal

As I was sitting with my friends in Lal’s Patisserie-our favourite hangout-enjoying a cool breeze and observing my friends’ discussion regarding the best A-levels college, I asked myself: Where would I apply for my next educational destiny? The answer struck me, ‘Nixor of course!’
Nixor is my foremost option for A-levels. After doing research on Nixor, I was convinced that it was the place for me. I believe it is a strong educational institute that appreciates the individualized needs and contexts of its students, providing a challenging, comprehensive curriculum, a nurturing environment and quality instruction. It was after seeing my friends from Nixor become confident, academically sound and be able to communicate freely everywhere that my heart was set for Nixor.
The fact that Nixor has an excellent teaching faculty willing to teach its extensive student body sets it apart from other colleges, as the current prevailing situation is to find incompetent teachers unable to teach students, who are compelled to seek tuitions. This brings me to mention Nixor’s ‘No tuition policy’ which I agree with wholeheartedly, as I myself never took tuitions until my O-levels owing to lack of good teachers. This policy guarantees us that Nixor’s teaching faculty is top of the line, thus we’ll never even have to consider tuitions.
Nixor seems to me particularly well-suited to motivate individuals who are driven to secure their own success. It has its own distinct, exotic environment and activities different from other institutions which I really like; as I myself have different interests and ambitions and admire a place that encourages its citizens to bring out the best of themselves, reveal their talents and be confident about their personalities. Just as it takes all sorts of colours to make a rainbow- all diverse, individually distinct and original-but together they form an extraordinary work of art.
Moreover, Nixor’s uniqueness is exhibited in the challenges it grants it students, meant for them to prove themselves not only academically but in other fields as well; something other institutions don’t do for e.g. in public speaking, project management, sports. Nixor’s Student Government also helps in making young adolescents strong, assertive leaders and speakers in ‘Debates & Societies’. As Senaca quotes,
‘Difficulty strengthens the mind, as labour does the body.’
With a restless spirit, fierce eagerness to learn and a diligent nature, I believe I would be a great asset to Nixor’s student body. I’m confident and love taking on challenges and risks that makes the glory of overcoming them all the more.
Working on team projects, participating in extra-curricular are my favourite activities; and if accepted here I intend to pursue my goals with energy, passion and ambition. As Virginia Satir concludes,
‘Feelings of worth can flourish only in an atmosphere where individual differences are appreciated, communication is open and rules are flexible-the kind of atmosphere that is found in a nurturing family.’ (481 words)
