WE WEAR THE MASK
Waking up to the sound of rain I put up my protective barrier; I’ll be able to deal with my insecurities today. Sitting in a room looking at each other’s mask; some smiling, other wandering. Mankind everyday wake up by this rule. Helping us hide our fear, enabling to be socially accepted and coping with our own perception it lead us to survival; this are the masks that people usually wear in our society.
We masquerade our need of social acceptance. Needing the approval of other people to fit in. Believing there’s a certain way to act in order to be accepted in our society. We want to act like goddess and in reality we are all man full of imperfections and appearance. Not knowing that the most beautiful thing is to be authentic. An example of putting our mask of social acceptance is when we consent to the beliefs of others instead of standing up in defend of our ideals; fight to change negative aspects that causes harm to our environment and community. By doing so it will permit us to live in harmony and wellbeing; and what better acceptance than that.
We also masquerade our fear. Concern with our flaws; feeling insecure; not wanting to show our imperfections to the world. Scared of being damaged, to suffer, that nobody will understand…being ridicule, laughed at, and fear of superiority
