My experiences in writing have been minimal. I have only learned the basics of writing. So anything having to do with writing has always been like a chore to me. It was always my least favorite thing to do. Growing up all through grade school and high school I always did the basic or minimal work necessary to get me a passing grade. My favorite subjects were math and science. And you really didn’t have to write papers in those classes.
I always knew what I wanted to say but just have had problems putting my ideas together. I tend to get stuck a lot trying to figure out what words I’m wanting to use to put my ideas in writing too. Then on top of that I never know if I am using correct punctuations or formats. To be honest I have never really used any formats in writing. So using correct formats and everything now is a challenge for me.
Up until now all my writing has been very basic. I never did any college after graduating high school. So when I started college this semester it was a whole new adventure for me. I didn’t know the first step on how to put an essay together correctly. If I didn’t have the handbook for this class that I have now, I would be completely lost on how to even write any of this essay.
I have many writing needs that I need to improve on but I believe that it will improve. Then maybe it will not be so much of a chore for me to do. Now my tricky part is me being able to get my thought process written down so my writings will make sense.

My writing process all depends on what I am writing. Some writings I can sit down and write the whole things and be done with it, while others can take me multiple days or even weeks. I normally sit down and work on it until I finish, get tired of it, or a hit a roadblock. I try to stop when I feel like I am writing the same thing over and over or if I feel like I just need a break. Most of the time, if I feel like I am writing and it is really bad, it is because it is and I need to take a break and come back to it later. Working on it in pieces normally works well for me, to break it up and take it a little bit at a time.
