TOURISM PLAN FOR NINOY AQUINO PARKS AND WILDLIFE CENTER
I. INTRODUCTION The Philippines is one of the dream destinations for many ecotourists all over the world. Enveloped within an otherworldly landscape of sea and jungle, where large number of magnificent floras and faunas can be found, it truly is one of the few places of its kind. In that, it contains all of the major ecosystems that warm weather or tropical tourists look for when deciding on a vacation spot. It could be argued that pretty much all of the Philippines can be considered Ecotourism destinations, however, we are living in a modern time where technological and environmental changes brought impact on many ecotourism sites countrywide. Metro Manila has been said to be populated but it’s great to know that government and local NGO’s are making ways to maintain and provide the needs of some ecosites in the region. Quezon City is an urban area, an image of a modern city, located in the National Capital Region, dubbed as the “City of Stars” and “New York City of the Asia-Pacific”, thus making it the busiest city in Metro Manila, but despite of it, there are some places in Quezon City that offers a green ambiance and provides venue for relaxation and nature tripping. It also shelter for some natural parks including the “La Mesa Eco Park” and “Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center”. Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center (NAPWC) is located at Brgy. Central District 4 Quezon Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City. It is a haven for young and old nature lovers. Traces its beginning as a portion of the 197.8 hectares Quezon Memorial Park (QMP) which was covered under Proclamation No. 42 dated July 5, 1954. With the issuance of Proclamations Nos. 481 and 616 respectively, the parks area was reduce 64.58 hectares. The larger areas were allocated for Phil. Science High School and the National Government Center which was later developed as the areas occupied by the Central Bank of the Philippines, Lung Center,
