INTRODUCTION/SCENARIO
Assessment of this unit will be in two parts. The first part relates to this assignment brief and will assess your knowledge and understanding of issues, methodology and skills required to undertake research and the second assignment brief (to follow on), will assess your ability to conduct your own research.
Much of the work in health and social care is grounded in evidence-based practice, so it is important to have a clear understanding of research methodology in order to carry out your own project. It will provide a good foundation if you are hoping to progress to higher education. Initially, you will need to consider the importance and function of research in the health and social care sectors and explore research methodology and ethical principles. You must pass this assignment brief in order to progress on to the second part of the unit: conducting a personal project.
