In Chapter 6 of Enrique’s Journey, from the last footsteps on Mexican soil to the first on US soil the process of smuggling immigrants become more detailed. Although they discuss the different form in which smugglers bring migrants to the United States such as through ropes or human chains, El Tirindaro seems to be more experienced. As a smuggler El Tirindaro is very risky be very wise in every move he makes. Although it might seem like he makes poor decisions when it comes to his personal life and health, he is success is getting many immigrants across their border and to their destination. However, El Tirindaro’s poor judgment is seen when he leaves Enrique in the hands of people in his “smuggling network” who have been drinking. The overall process is very sketchy and frightening to the immigrants but it all seems to be worth every last cent their families spend even if it means raising it to more than what was negotiated, like Enrique’s mother had to do. Despite the process, reuniting with their relative is most important.…

‘Independence or death!’ was proclaimed by Prince Pedro on September 7, 1822 when Brazil's independence was declared. Dom Pedro was an important figure in latin american history because Dom Pedro was the first emperor of Brazil. He was also known as Dom Pedro IV to the portuguese because he was the king of Portugal. When he had fought for Brazil's independence, he proclaimed the quote written above when liberating Brazil from portuguese rule. Actually, this is what he had been known most for; for declaring Brazil independent from Portugal in 1822. He had set up his empire in Brazil before he was ever emperor of Portugal. It wasn't until after his father died (Joao IV) that he had returned to Portugal to claim the crown. When he had left Brazil…
The person I interviewed was Mr. Hugh Jundies. Throughout the interview I tried to help Hugh by helping him process through his goal. I think this helped him really make sure the goal was his own and not someone else’s. After much processing he came up with his goal. His goal for the year is to do well in the blended program. This is important to him because he thinks that getting a higher GPA shows that he has higher dedication to the subject. He also feels as though, the more focus and time he puts into it, then the more knowledge and understanding of the subject. He also mentioned that getting great grades would make him feel better about himself. It also would prove to himself that he balanced his responsibilities well. After he told me…

As you may have recalled I had an interview with ALMACO recently. Following that, last Friday they offered me an internship position for this Summer along with the ability to stay and work shorter week hours while being able to attend school during the Fall semester of 2017. I took some time to really think through this decision and felt like ALMACO was the decision I wanted to go with. This was actually a much harder decision than what it seems to be. I want to make sure that it is crystal clear that HawkeyePedershaab didn’t do anything wrong in this process. The fact of the matter is that I would really like to get another experience under my belt, and along with that the ALMACO offer was a hard one to turn down. I hope that you are understanding…
