Enabling Affordable Health care systems in Developing Countries
Summary : Providing health care is very much tough and costly. Providing health in rural areas is much more costly than urban areas. Fortunately there are ways to minimize the cost and provide affordable health care even in the remote areas. There are many functions today that can be performed using smart phone ( iphone, blackberry, Samsung etc.). As smart phone has been called “swiss army knife of digital age” because with a smart phone any one can do many things such as social networking, sales force management (CRM), providing health care. Naryana hrudayalaya hospitals (cardiac care centre ) developed TTECG ( trans telephonic electro cardio graphy ) connecting 308 Centre around the world . the entire process of transmitting and opining the ECG is done free. It is possible to give remote treatment and diagnosis of patients through mobile phone as 3G will available soon. Narayana Hrudyalaya launched mobile health services by using the SANA, it allows smart phones , interface with diagnostics such as ECG, Ultrasound and X-ray/ CT-scanners. Mobile solutions hold a tremendous potential for changing the way we live.

Answer : The kinds of applications that are described in this case study are as simple as e-mail, social networking, providing health care, and text messaging.
