1.1. Describe the goals and objectives of your organisation
Goals set out what the organization wants to achieve, where it want to be – i.e. the vision
Medium and shorter term objectives are the specific means by which the organization will achieve its goals. These are supported by key actions/deliverables to achieve the objectives, which in turn contribute to meeting the overall goals. The organization measures success in achieving both its objectives by identifying measurable and relevant key performance indicators to indicate progress.
The overall longer term goal of xxxx Council is to improve quality of life across the Borough, through effective leadership and a strong focus on the economic, social and cultural wellbeing of all our citizens
The medium term corporate priorities/goals to be delivered from 2009 to present for the Council has include:

These medium term strategic priorities/ goals are underpinned by a range of key objectives, specific actions/deliverables and measurable indicators, too numerous to list in this paper. In the first priority/goal, there are for example, 6 key objectives and 14 deliverable actions, see table below. Deliverable actions are in essence the service strategies and business plans, which in turn have their own specific aims, objectives, outputs and outcomes.
