Toriano Williams Professor Lilia Putintsev HU200 Critical Evaluation in the Humanities Assignment 2 Photography I have chosen two photographs, one from my elementary school days and the other from the text book. The photographs from my school class picture has amber background which emphasize my complexion and facial expression which was subdue at the time. The photograph of my self was taken during the early 90s but it appearance suggest it was taken in the 80s. I like the simplicity of the photo, it was taken in the 90’s era a decade which I enjoyed carefree days as a young adolescent. The photograph from the text book was taken by photographer James Van Der Zee, the couple in Raccoon coats (figure 11-12), and pg. 292 of the text. The photograph from the text show cased style and sophistication from the 1930’s era, the vertical of the buildings help to accentuate the horizontals of the beautiful automobile, I can’t forget the vertical silhouette of the elegant couple occupying the vehicle.
