AT&T wireless is one of the largest providers of wireless and data services in the United States serving over 20 million customers and employing over 240,000 employees worldwide (AT&T 2012). The company global head quarter is located in Dallas, Texas. The company also provides wireless and data roaming services to customer who resides and travel internationally in more than 100 countries. The company 's values include deliver the future first, build strong customer relationships, unleash their human capabilities, and operate with integrity and trust. The company mission is to rethink possible “Connecting you to your world everywhere you live and work” (AT&T 2012). AT&T has a portfolio of service that they provide to consumers and business customers at a competitive price which includes wire line, wireless voice and data, broadband internet, television and messaging services. AT&T has the nation’s largest 4G network and their mobile broadband service covers 80 %of the U.S. population (AT&T 2012). In addition, the company is the only U.S. national service provider to offer a 100 percent IP-based television service with AT&T U-verse TV. The company also manages the largest Wi-Fi network including more than 30,000 AT&T Wi-Fi Hot spots provides access to more than 220,000 hotspots globally (AT&T 2012).
AT&T is also a great place to work for because it provides a diverse culture environment. The company was awarded and earned the 4th spot for Diversity Inc.’s 2012 for its longstanding diversity within the company. The company also received an award for the 6th spot in the 2011 Equal Opportunity Magazine Top 50 employers (AT&T 2012). The company also is known for offering outstanding benefits which includes medical, dental, vision, 401 (k) savings and pension plan, tuition reimbursement, and life/accident insurance. The company also has other fringe benefits which includes, discounts on AT&T

    By much research, ATT has had opposition in the past which at times would end up in merger with another company. Many times small phone companies can not compete with ATT and thus kneel to them and soon become a part of the family of the biggest telecommunications giant this world has ever seen. We can see by the current merger of SBC and the Global name of ATT has given the public a misconception that ATT was bought out yet in all fairness it seems that ATT had the upper hand due to it’s strong name known all around the world. This was considered a weakness in my review. But this weakness can actually be strength due to the bonding and assets of two companies that really once was the same ATT we seen fifteen years ago when the Telecommunications act in 1996 prevented ATT from being a world conglomerate (Sirota 1999). Another weakness that can be said of ATT is their lack of Voice over Internet Protocol.
