Tone and Attitude Analysis Essay In any story or an article, the author's attitude toward the subject they are talking about shows what they think of that subject. As a reader, they can infer the author's tone through their use of diction and examples. In the two stories “Brain Birds, by Terry Krautwurst, and “A Soft Spot for Crows”, by David Shaw, the authors have attitudes towards the bird(s) they are writing or talking about. Krautwurst, the author of “Brain Birds” and Shaw, the author of “Soft Spot for Crows”, both have positive attitudes towards the bird(s) in their articles. In the author’s articles, their tones are complimentary and admiring to show their attitude.
