Zia started talking and whatever i said she answered me in a positive me. The way she talked gave a new level of confidence and i was assured in my heart that i would be able to achieve the mark that i desired in my heart. As we talked and kept walking, her positive talk kept on boosting my confidence.

Unfortunately, I was not so fond of this girl, I thought she was very rude, inconsiderate, and selfish; little did I know that she was going through a tough time. In other words, a couple of minutes before her scene, we were seated behind the curtain and she began to cry. I was shocked, I assumed that she hates everyone and is self centerd, but when she broke down right in front of me, I felt that I judged her instead of getting to know her. Unsure of what to do, I tried to calm her down by patting her back; I was not one to comfort the harsh person. “I’m scared…” She said between sniffles; I felt bad because I did nothing in my power to see how she was doing during the rehearsals. “Don’t be scared, you will do just fine! You practiced this and know every line by heart; you can do this…” I comforted her with my words. She looked up and smiled, surprising me by engulfing me in a hug. Then suddenly she sprang up, wiping her tears and said, “Thank you”, and went on to perform her scene; which she did flawlessly. Right then and there, I realised that I was to harsh on judging people before I knew them, maybe she was acting like that because she was scared. In the end, my entire self-concept changed, I had become much more kind from that day on; that was the reason I treat everyone with kindness, because I don’t know what…

I decided I needed to make a change. My classes were filled with students who I never talked to, because we were stuck in certain groups in middle school. I branched out and began talking to new people and met a girl who seemed to have similar interests as me. Every class we would talk and we decided to walk to our lockers together in the morning. This would be a change, because I always walked with my other friend to our lockers. The next morning, I met up with my new friend, Jen. Jen and I walked to our lockers together and I heard hushed talking behind us. The voice came from my old friend who was telling someone about me. She now turned the tables and gossiped about me and how I was mean for ignoring her. This shocked me and I knew then and there that I had to drop her as a…
