Cory is a rising star on his football team his senior year in high school but Troy see’s nothing of it but a waist of time. Troy insists that Cory leaves the sport alone and focus on a career other then sports. Lyons on the other hand seems to only come around on Fridays. As Troy would say “cause it’s my payday”.
In the play “Fences” Troy has a problem with his current job with his boss Mr. Rand. Troy’s concern was “Why you got the white mens driving and the colored lifting?” While Troy was inquiring on this matter his coworkers felt as if he was starting trouble for everyone else. Troy’s relationship with his close friend Bono in the play seems to be a great friendship. Throughout the whole play Troy’s on issue with Bono was Bono watching his every move and suspicions off Troy cheating on his wife Rose.
Out of all of Troy’s conflicts the main conflict Troy had was with “Death”. Death was a major problem for Troy because it was one problem that came from different forms. Ether death was a fastball for Troy as he quoted “Death ain’t nothing but a fastball on the outside corner” or in the form of an “Army” as Troy mentioned, “I looked up one day and Death was marching at me. Like Soldiers on Parade!”. Troy defined Death as the “white man” in fences as well. Every time
