The movie Hercules and the myth "Heracles" both describe the story of a demi-god, Hercules. His quest to prove himself worthy of god-hood is described in various tasks which he completes to show his strength and bravery. Disney and Rosenberg & Baker's depictions of Hercules are similar, with the gods mentioned in the movie representative of those described in the myth. Hercules also succeeds in transforming into a god at the end of both works. However, the list for similarities between the movie and myth end quickly, as Hercules and "Heracles" differ in many aspects. Though the general plots remain the same, due to Disney's goal of fixating kids with the idea of good versus evil, Disney's Hercules has transformed the impression of the myth…

It is very difficult to pick one favorite among the hundreds of aspirants that ever participated on The Voice. There were engaging reggae artists, powerful divas, smooth balladeers, country artists, and mostly pop hopefuls. However, The Voice was also able to produce some indie pop artists who excel not just vocally, but also in the ability to recreate an already popular sound. The outcome is an accomplishment in terms of own materials, when these artists graduate on the show. Madilyn Paige, for example, is a strong example of an artist from The Voice who is able to create a gem through her song, “Irreplaceable.”…

One great thing I adore about Zoe Saldana is her acting. Zoe makes my mouth water, heart throb, and gives me goose bumps when I see her on the screen. I remember the first time I saw her on the screen. It was in 2002 when my older cousin took me to the theater to watch Drumline. When Zoe Saldana came on the screen I fell in love. I never knew who she was at the time but she was my little kid crush. She played as a dance major. When she would dance I smiled so wide. Zoe is a great actress. She always does great on her roles. She chooses a role that challenges her. When she’s on set she takes in the character and becomes the character. Saldana makes the character believable. Another movie she dominated was Columbiana. In that movie she was like a Spanish Angelina Jolie. I watched that movies like ten times. The…

Attention- getter: What would you do if somebody came into this classroom and pointed a gun at you as if they were going to kill you for no reason? First thing that would come to mind is, “Am I really going to die right now” and “Why is a person on campus with a gun trying to kill people?” Sad part is, an event like this has happened many times in the past. For instance, the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting as well as the Colorado movie theatre shooting that all took place within the past year[example]. These mass shootings have brought up the issue of controlling who is able to purchase guns and if it is safe and necessary to roam around in public armed with a weapon.…

Although Disney decided to put its own version of this tale, Tangled is still about the long-haired princess who is locked away in a tower by a witch. Instead of dreaming about love, Tangled presents a story where Rapunzel makes a deal with a thief, Flynn Rider, to go on…
