Student Diversity and the Australian Curriculum is one document that can provide an insight into working with diverse learners that are outlined in the Australian Curriculum structure and content. ACARA, 2013 indicates various purpose for this document including help ensure that all students are able to access and participate in the Australian Curriculum, provide advice as to how the three-dimensional design of the Australian Curriculum may be used to address the learning needs of all students and provide specific advice with regard to meeting the learning needs of students with disability. One implication is that each state has its own twist on the Australian curriculum, currently Victoria uses AusVELS, soon to be Victoria Curriculum. "Overview - About - Victorian Curriculum", 2016 states that the Victorian Curriculum incorporates and reflects most of the Australian Curricula, however, aspects of the Victorian Curriculum have been changed including the representation of the curriculum and the structural design, thus as the Victorian Curricle utilises aspects of the Australian Curricle it can be stated that the Victoria version is still allowing world class education for students. This implication impact on students is that whichever states a child lives in or moves to sit incorporating the Australian Curricle in some form which allows optimal learning to occur as well as consistency across states. In the classroom context, I have seen the AusVELS/Australian Curriculum being implemented in lessons such as maths. In this lesson the teacher planned a money lesson that was hands on with manipulatives like coins and notes, as well as incorporating in digital media the smartboard which students were able to use to complete set tasks outlined by the teacher.
