Autobiography
It all started on Alabama Ave S.E. Washington, D.C., a Healthy eight pound baby girl was born on February 27, 1989. Her name is Sitembile Aisha Knatt and she knew from the start that she loved children. I attended an African centered private school until I was in the sixth grade, then my mom decided to homeschool me and my older sister. I graduated from Washington Math Science Tech PCHS in May 2006. My senior year in high school I worked part- time at a child development center in North West Washington, D.C. called Love and Care. I worked in the infant room and really enjoyed it. After graduating high school I enrolled in a historically black college North Carolina Central University located in Durham, NC. While attending North Carolina community college I decided that I would major in Family and Consumer Science with the concentration of Child Development. I choose this career path because I consider myself to have patience for children. I like to play and assist them in learning. Also I like to see how they grow and develop and I like to supervise them and to achieve each development stage. In addition, I have good energy levels to work with children. I also have more than five years’ experience in working with children. I work with infants currently, although I love working with babies I am ready for a challenge and would like to work with preschooler’s ages 3-5 years old. Children are the most important part of every society. I enjoy working with children because they have such big and bright imaginations, so I have no choice but to feed off their positive energy. Children also challenge and inspire the way I look at and engage with the world around me. There is nothing more exciting than a child’s imagination. Overall children’s smiles, Laughter, sense of humor and there innocent faces are also a few reasons why I enjoy children.
