My name is Nina E. King. I was born on August 24, 1983 in Atlanta, Georgia to my lovely parents Carolyn D and David K. I have 2 sisters Davina 31 and Jameika, 34 I am the youngest. I have two wonderful, energetic, outgoing and loving sons Willie 10 and Miguel 6 months old. They have taught me the true meaning of love, patience, and responsibility. I also have 3 nieces and 4 nephews that I adore.
In 2003 I attended DeKalb Technical College where I successfully obtained my GED it was the best decision for my family. Shortly after I obtained my GED I started working at Childcare Network where my son Willie attended I worked as a floater so I had the opportunity to work with infants to toddlers. In 2006 I attended the University of Phoenix where I majored in Criminal Justice my mother said “Nina you love children go to school for Early Childhood Education.” I didn’t listen I continued Criminal Justice then I realized I was in the wrong major working with children is where I should have been all along. In 2008 I started working with the City of Decatur Children and Youth services as an after school Counselor. I learned a great deal from working within the organization through experience and different training my supervisors told me I should further my education in the field of Early Childhood.
While working with the City of Decatur I came in contact with children with different backgrounds, disabilities, behavioral issues. I was person for those children to come to for comfort when they needed someone the most. Their parents always gave me praise for being there for their children and not being judgmental because they might misbehave or because they don’t understand how to effectively communicate. My long term goal is to be an advocate for special need children. Therefore I am pursing my CDA credentials.
Today I am enrolled as a candidate in a CDA Program. My goal is to earn the CDA credential to become prepared to be knowledgeable, caring,
