3. extracting blood and fluids to weigh
III. Internal Exam
A. Expose the internal organs
1.make a Y incision from the shoulders to the pubic bone 2. Saw of the ribs to expose the internal organs B. Remove the internal organs. 1. the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys and spleen. 2. Move them to the sink C. Remove the brain 1. make an incision from the back of the scalp from one ear to the other. 2. remove the top of the skull 3. The brain is gently lifted out of the cranial vault 4. The brain is then cut or placed in a formaldehyde solution for future analysis
IV. Returning the organs to the body
A. Organs are replaced to the body and filler material before its sewn up again.
VI. Sewing up the body
A. After the pathologist is finished with the examination the forensic technician will sew the body back up
