Awareness ribbons are short pieces of ribbon folded into a loop, or representations of such, which are used in the United States, Canada, Australia, UK and other parts of the world as a way for wearers of the ribbon(s) to make a statement of support for a cause or social issue.
The use of ribbons is designed to draw awareness to health issues and other issues. Many groups have adopted Awareness Ribbon Color Meanings as symbols of support or awareness, and as a result, some colors have several meanings as they support several causes. Some causes may also be represented by more than one color.

Not only does the color white signify grief and death, but it also signifies hope. A hope that for mothers and their families, pregnancy and childbirth will always be a rewarding experience.
Pink ribbon awareness campaign for breast cancer - the Pink Ribbon campaign was designed to saturate the market with information, personalise the message so that it would strike hearts and minds. Hopefully the awareness will mean less needless deaths and better quality of life.
