MANAGEMENT The first private port terminal in Myanmar owned and operated by National Entrepreneurs. Managed and operated by Asia World Port Management Co. Ltd. A subsidiary Company of Asia World Co. Ltd.

LOCATION OF AWPT

ASIA WORLD PORT TERMINAL

Located upstream of the Yangon River, about 47 miles away from the Pilot Station. Terminal facilities lie right in the heart of Yangon City.

YANGON RIVER ESTUARY
Sea access channel: 32 km long between port and river mouth near Elephant Point. Port is accessible to ships of LOA 167 metres. Permissible draft around 9 metres, controlled by available depths at the Inner and Outer Bars. Entry and exit from the harbour subject to the tidal conditions, generally timing with high tides to enable cross Inner and Outer bars.

DEVELOPMENT OF AWPT

Developed on BOT basis as permitted by the Myanmar Investment Commission, under the Myanmar Citizens Investment Law. 4 phases of development as per the Master Plan. First 3 phases completed. 4th Phase under development. BOT Contract signed on 21 Nov 2006.

FIRST PHASE DEVELOPMENT (1)

Wharf length: 156 metres of Island type jetty with 3 trestles. Land area: 1.32 acres, permitting only for direct receipt and direct delivery operation. Project investment cost: Kyat 439.3 M and US$ 4.6 M.

FIRST PHASE DEVELOPMENT (2)

COMPLETION OF FIRST PHASE PROJECT

Project started in April 1996 and completed in December 1997. Concession period: 25 years lease with the option to extend additional 15 years to be approved by the Government.

SECOND PHASE DEVELOPMENT (1)

Wharf length: 198 metres (after dismantling the old No. 1 Ahlone Rice Wharf) for multi-purpose operations. Land area: 15.39 acres (including area occupied by 7 palm oil tanks and an old rice mill which were relocated). Project investment cost: Kyat 2.34 B and US$ 21M.
