The man looks at the baby who reaches for him with its free hand and with the other it holds a business card in its mouth and chews on it greedily, “Yeah, I would.
How old is the baby?” “Eight months,” “Oh, yeah. I’ve done that before. They don’t know what’s going on. It’s totally safe as long as you don’t put it on their face.” “What would you put on a baby?” The man motions for the woman to follow him over to one of the far wall of tattoos, “Ah, I got the color and stuff. Is it a boy or a girl?” “Girl”
“Um, the ladybug is cute. Um, little flowers, maybe,” he suggests to her as he points to various pictures on the wall. “You don’t have a monkey, do you?” “I don’t have a monkey.” “Dammit” “I have a teddy bear”
“I want a monkey,” the woman starts to make a pouting face at her daughter. The baby lets out a soft
giggle.
“I have been looking for a long time for a monkey but I haven’t been able to find one for some reason. People have been asking me for one all the time, because I guess monkeys are so popular but nothing yet.”
“I wanted a monkey because she’s like a little monkey with a little hair on her ears and everything.”
The woman turns away from her daughter and scans the wall of art till she points at a ladybug.
“That’s cute,” she says, “maybe, maybe I’ll get her that one.”
“Ok, we can do that.”
“How much?”
“Five bucks,”
“Okay, then let’s do it.”
