Bad Carbs
Our bodies process good and bad carbs very differently. "Good carbs", also known as complex carbs, such as whole grains, legumes, and other natural foods for example, gives more advantageous benefits than when intaking "bad carbs," or simple carbs. This is because complex carbohydrates have longer chains of sugar molecules which takes much longer for our bodies to breakdown. As a result of this, the energy from foods such as quinoa and oats are disbributed more evenly, leavingly you feeling more energetic and full for a longer period of time. Foods such as soda, candy, and pastries however, are full of sugars and contains much less fiber, giving you little to no nutrients. These foods are also known as empty calories.
