Always hearing about the towns and streets of this gorgeous island, I was curious of what there was to explore. By the time we reach the streets of Nassau, one of the many islands that make up the Bahamas, they are already filled with tourists and natives. We come to realize not much has been messed with since it was built. The shops Tara and I enter have no air condition and smell of Havana cigars. The buildings are tone and irreplaceable because they held so much history. “Sydney, let’s go to that shop,” Tara exclaims excitedly pointing at a jewelry shop. We enter the jewelry store expecting more than what we see in front of us. Nothing shiny catches our eyes since everything in the store appears to be made out of wood. They have everything from earrings to ankle bracelets. The lady approaches us and begins explaining to us in a thick accent, “Everything in this shop, I have made with my bare hands.” Taken aback by her comment, Tara and I look around with a different point of view. Therefore, we approach one shelf with bracelets and immediately realize which ones we both like. Mine is a lighter color bracelet made up of sea shells that are carved from wood. We grab each one and rush back to the counter to gladly pay the hardworking lady.
