Trying to achieving a two year Associate Degree for ten years to me is absurd and infuriating. Nevertheless I'm tenacious and resilient, although this will be the third time enrolling after withdrawing in 2014 as a full time student. I'm enrolled in three other online classes in which accommodates my work schedule. I’m taking Managerial Accounting, College Algebra and Introduction to Probability and Statistics courses for my Business Administration major, seven credits away for completion. While trying to balance being a young mom of a teenage son who is a honor high school student and being a full time 10 hour night shift worker. offers to pays a huge percentage of college tuition and books. Then I will proceed in transferring to a four year college to continue as an accounting/finance and computer double major student.
However, Brooklyn, New York is where I originally started college in 2006.
In 2007 moved to Allentown, PA for better opportunity and safer environment to raise my son. Motivated and determine due to the lack of opportunities for job growth in my company because of lack of work experience and education I enrolled back in college in the Fall of 2012. Unfortunately I did not entirely comprehending how exhausting and overwhelming everything was going to be with my everyday life. Being a mom, a girlfriend, a best friend, a sister, an aunt, a part time worker, having minor health issues, finance issues, receiving less support than I thought I would. Also, being mentally exhausted, losing motivation, losing confidence, feeling useless, just being unprepared for obstacles that may get in the way of me succeeding and feeling envious of those who are striving, coping and are better prioritize in reaching their goals wishing it was me. Consequently, the hurdle I couldn't overcome was a major family situation which that contributed to my departure from school in the beginning of the Fall
2014semester.
Overall, I am now regrouped, refocused, and ready for round 3. This English course is my third attempt at finishing without withdrawing as this is a needed class for my major. English is not a favorite subject of mine especially writing but I did enjoy writing the essays in English 105 not so much the research paper. Last year I found a new fondness for reading and plan on continuing. Achieving a college degree has always been a goal of mine growing up and will continue until I succeed. Hopefully third time a charm and not three strikes you’re out.
