This confession letter that Pinky Madam wrote shows her complete disregard for Balram as a human being, and that her political status allows her to resolve any issues within her power. In “ The Kite Runner” Hassan works as a servant to Amir and Baba, and has been working since his birth. Mostly Hassan was accepted in his workplace and was treated with open
arms. When Baba started to show more attention to Hassan than his son Amir, Amir plotted and framed Hassan for stealing, this resulted in his firing. Amir “ lifted Hassan’s mattress and planted [his] new watch and a handful of Afghani bills under it” (Hosseini 110). This toxic relationship between him and his employers resulted in his firing, because of this he was left without a job. The chances both Balram and Hassan had at creating success through work, was not attainable because of their social statuses. Balram and Hassan were easy blame if anything went wrong because no one would doubt that two lower class, uneducated people would be involved in a hit-and-run, and stealing. These stereotypes have left them at a disadvantage even at their workplaces.
There social classes have not only affected how they are treated at their workplace but also impacted how they are treated within their own families.
