Re-education may exist in China today, although it may in the poverty-stricken areas where families believe that discipline is crucial. Without literacy and a proper education, workers were forced into a life of manual labour. Children should have the opportunity to learn literacy at school in order to broaden their imagination. For me, present governments should focus on making education essential, particularly those living in remote areas. I’d recommend this novel to teenagers so they can feel privileged about going to school, especially being able to have an unlimited access of books rather than working in manual labour like these boys. I believe a vivid imagination can bring hope to terrible circumstances and that it is possible to endure extreme hardship without the ultimate ending being
