Bamboo Sheets Last Too Long Essay
How Long Do Bamboo Sheets Last?
Are you looking for a durable set of sheets that will last for years? If so, consider trying 100% bamboo sheets! These eco-friendly sheets can last up to 15 years if they are cared for properly.
In comparison, traditional cotton sheets usually only last a year or two before you need to replace them. When bamboo lasts well over a decade longer than traditional bedding, it’s obvious that bamboo bedding wins hands down when it comes to durability.
Now, you may be wondering, “How is it possible for bamboo sheets to last so much longer than traditional sheets? Sheets are just sheets, right?” Wrong! Bamboo has two distinct qualities that help it to last significantly longer than cotton– The first is that it will never pill or tear.

In order to save money, most cotton manufactures weave the cotton fibers together and leave the thread ends loose throughout the material. Over time, these threads ends work themselves out of the fabric, causing the sheet to pill and holes to appear.
Premium bamboo sheets, on the other hand, use a cutting-edge process that ensures your sheets will never pill or tear. To make this high-quality product, bamboo fibers are stretched across the entire length of the sheet. This technique securely anchors the thread ends along the border, which eliminates the possibility of threads working themselves out over time.
Since the integrity of the fabric is never compromised, bamboo fiber sheets never pill or tear from normal wear. As you can see, these sheets are significantly more durable and will last years longer than their cotton counterparts.
Bamboo Sheets Will Never Yellow or Gray
In addition to pills and tears, most people throw away their sheets when they start to discolor. This most often means that they have started to yellow or gray. So, why exactly do traditional sheets yellow or gray over

This gave me a much more solid understanding for the process of papermaking. The paper itself is made from the fibers of a species of Ficus tree, called Amate in Yukatek, and coated with a fine layer of lime plaster. To make this paper, first bark from trees is collected, torn into small bits, and then soaked over a period of time to soften the bark for when it is turned into pulp. Once the pulp reaches the desired level it is rinsed with clean water and then kept in water until it is processed. The pulp is then arranged onto boards and beaten into a thin flat paper. The paper is then taken to dry, which could have taken anywhere from two hours to two days depending on the…

A paper towel which can also be known as kitchen paper is an absorbent towel made up of cellulose fibers, which also make up other plants like cotton and wood instead of cloth material. Although paper towels cannot be washed and used again, paper towels are disposable. The key to why paper towels soak up water is the cellulose fibers. Cellulose fibers are giant molecules which are made up of smaller molecules called sugar molecules (inedible) joined together. The liquid grips onto the cellulose fibers, absorbing liquid spills effectively and easily like dissolving sugar into water. This process is called the capillary action, occasionally referred to as surface tension. The capillary action is the rising/absorption of liquid through small gaps…

The word euthanasia originates from two Greek words, meaning “good death”. In the most natural state, euthanasia defines a death positively sought after for mankind, in the act of dying and ultimately death. Unfortunately, the term historically and currently leads to debate and manipulation to insinuate a criminal act. World civilizations must remember the crimes of the past, and fear misplaced power as currently occurring in Darfur, however, the horror of genocide does not belong in the euthanasia debate. The arguments originate from cultural, religious and social values and dictate as well as interfere with the ability to experience a “good death”. For decades, the world has been experiencing a battle between the advocates and opponents of legalizing euthanasia. While the Euthanasia Act released November 2011 by the Royal Dutch Medical Association outlined new guidelines, there are histories and past cases that need to be studied to fully understand possible implications.…

Paper towels are made from softwood trees which contain long fibers. The tree goes thru several processes before it is actually turned into a paper towel. The paper towel is made from pulp in which the water is removed and the fibers then bond into sheets. Also, resin is added to the process to give the paper towel strength (Union). Several layers are then put together with adhesive and then formed into a paper towel (Choudhury). Some paper towels are embossed to form air pockets which help to absorb more liquid and help to add more strength (Union).…

Abstract: Mercerization or NaOH fiber surface treatment is one of the most popular surface treatment processes to make the natural fibers such as bamboo fibers compatible for use as reinforcing material in composites. But NaOH being a chemical is hazardous and polluting to the nature. This paper explores the possibility of use of naturally derived citric acid for bamboo fiber surface treatment and its comparison with NaOH treated Bamboo Fiber Composites. Untreated, 2.5 wt% NaOH treated and 5 wt% citric acid treated Bamboo Fiber Composites with 5 wt% fiber content were developed by Hand Lay process. Bamboo mats made of bamboo slivers were used as reinforcing material. Mechanical and physical characterization was done to compare the effects of NaOH and citric acid bamboo fiber surface treatment on mechanical and physical properties of Bamboo Fiber Composite. The experiment data reveals that the tensile…
