Banagher Precast Concrete, Product, Market and Size

Banagher precast concrete is the leading precast concrete manufacturer and supplier of precast concrete products to the civil Engineering and construction industries in Ireland and the United Kingdom, they have pioneered the way forward in the industry with the introduction of new and innovative precast concrete products such as the W-Beam and MY-Beam prestressed concrete bridge beams. Banagher Concrete have a long history with the first Bridge Beams cast in Banagher over 60 years ago.

The big decisions are made at the top layer and never the bottom, but when problems arise during production employees can make decisions, for example if a product in this case a box culvert was made and was missing lifting hooks it would be the decision of the chargehand or manager or higher on how to lift it out of the mold, but the employee could also make the decision depending on experience.

What process those this company use.

Banagher Precast Concrete uses a mass production process, this company produces a large amount of products each day/week, there is many production lines in this company ranging from indoors to outdoors, so for example on one of the U-Beam lines you could have 20 men working together, and there job is to produce U-Beams week in week out, another line there could be the production of box culverts and that line is solely used for the production of culverts, same with blocks there would be a line that produces thousands of blocks each week.

Regulatory bodies and standards that the company must comply with would be the Environmental Policy, Quality Standards and Service, Health and Safety. Banagher Precast Concrete are committed to all aspects of environmental activities. The company operates a stringent environmental management system, this includes an environmental manual, registers, procedures and a register of waste collectors.
Constant monitoring of Banagher precast concrete activities insures that they meet all the criteria set out by the local authority. They have over 8 acres of forestry, a wildlife habitat containing a fresh water lake stocked with indigenous fish. And they aim to continually improve their Environmental Management System by vigorously challenging their existing outputs. A key objective and policy of Banagher Precast Concrete is the recycling of materials.
