BNP CALLS HARTAL IN RANGPUR FOR TOMORROW
BNP will enforce a dawn-to-dusk hartal in Rangpur district on 1st Dec 13 demanding release of its Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed. Earlier, police arrested Rizvi from BNP’s central office in the capital early this morning.

SHIBIR MAN KILLED IN JHENIDAH COP FIRING
An activist of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, was killed and five including three law enforcers were injured when police, after being attacked, opened fire on the opposition men in Kotchandpur upazila of Jhenidah on 30 November 2013, on the first day of opposition combine-enforced 72-hour blockade.
BNP-led 18-party opposition combine announced a dawn-to-dusk hartal (shutdown) in Kotchandpur and Moheshpur upazilas for Sunday protesting the killing.
The BNP-led 18-party opposition alliance enforced the blockade of rail, roads and waterways from 6:00am today to press for immediate cancellation of the polls schedule and to protest implication of senior leaders in “false cases”, hours after one blockade ended. At least 19 people were killed and scores injured during the opposition alliance-sponsored 71-hour blockade that ended at 5:00am on 29 Nov 2013.

KHALEDA HAS TURNED CRAZY FOR POWER: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina alleged that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has become crazy to go to power. The premier said she had telephoned the opposition leader to solve the current political situation of the country. “But BNP does not want to take part in the election,” Hasina alleged.

TRUCK RUNS OVER BLOCKADER IN PABNA
A blockader was killed and five others were injured when a truck ploughed through opposition activists hurling brickbats at the vehicle in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna this evening. Mahabul Islam, 26, who died on the spot, was identified by locals as an activist of Jubo Dal, youth wing of BNP. The blockaders hurled brick chips at the truck prompting the driver to speed up, resulting in the accident around 6:00pm
